El Corte: the most important European tango community in the '90s

Did you know that the first international tango communities in Europe in the mid eighties were born in the Netherlands and in Germany?

In August 2016 Marina and I were in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, to dance in the historical milonga of "El Corte" and we interviewed its founder Eric Jørissen.  Eric told us about the beginnings of tango in the Netherlands since 1985 and about the history of "El Corte" where Eric, since 1988, hosted tango events where you could dance non-stop for many days with people from all Europe.

El Corte nowadays is still a magic place, a real "Casa de tango" (tango home) where you can find tango 365 days per year and where the joyful and cozy mood is the collective emanation of Eric's personality.

In this radio show we broadcast the interview to Eric and the memories of Flora BenedettiGiovanni Begotti and Bruno Fiorentini who visited El Corte in the nineties.

The show is hosted in italian but the interview to Eric is in English.
